DESCRIPTION
The Cradle is the eponymous birthplace of the Resistance, and is nestled at the farthest reach of Caldera before the Void.  It was, until recently, the largest corporate-controlled mining establishment outside of Wellspring.  Following the intervention of the Inner Andromeda Alliance and the Insurrection, Conglomerate Enterprises were swift to sever all supply routes to and from the planet to avoid further liability.  This unprecedented action granted the Resistance access, albeit limited, to blockaded spacecraft otherwise prohibited from leaving orbit, as well as many of the valuable mineral reserves and factories on the world's surface.

Despite its liberation, hostilities continue to ravage the sprawling colony.  Waning corporate security forces wrest to little avail to retain domestic authority over an insurmountable army of proletarian insurgents, guerrillas, and foreign freedom fighters abroad. Off-world, the political climate remained civil for much longer; the Alliance garrison at Resolute supplied a steady stream of smuggled materiel and increasing manpower in exchange for necessary reconstruction provisions.

DESCRIPTION
Resolute was once an exceptionally esteemed planetary system in Lower Caldera known as The Anvil, which served for over a decade as a manufacturing powerhouse and high-volume thoroughfare for cargo ships between colonies in The Cradle and Wellspring. The territory battled for the majority of its economic existence against its sister colonies to top the Conglomerate Industrial Development Index—an accolade eventually secured by Azores not long before the Insurrection.

It is without doubt that the Insurrection would never have survived the retribution of the corporate empire were it not for The Anvil's public sympathy, which ultimately shattered the shackles of capitalism for Caldera.  It was from here that the Inner Andromeda Alliance declared Wellspring its next warfront, and it is from here that the liberation of the proletariat continues to manifest its resolve. The Anvil became known as Resolute, a testament to the willpower of the people and a stronghold for their cause.

DESCRIPTION
Terrestria is perhaps the most actively-sought territory in the Lost Universe, due in no small part its tremendous strategic significance.  Flanked by Wellspring to one side and Caldera on the other, it has often been said that he who controls Terrestria will control the ebb and flow of the war, and it is for this reason that the territory was the first of many to undergo TECORA lockdown immediately following the Insurrection.  When coupled with control over Sanctuary, the breaching of the Caldera Border Zone is nigh impossible short of direct and, predictably, Pyrrhic assault on the blockade.

"Of that I am well aware," Samuel responded.  He leaned on the shovel and wiped sweat from his brow, glancing around the wasteland strewn with mechanical debris.  It was dark, which made the heat only slightly more bearable.

"Worlds where even the wealthiest of men refuse to stake their fortune," the old man continued.

Samuel speared the ground again before uprooting a hunk of metal and exhaled heavily.  "That's what cowards do, Uncle."



DESCRIPTION
Sargasso is a vast region of space in Lower Caldera where very few planetary systems have formed, all reportedly haunted by inexplicable phenomena.  While transient industrial operations have yielded optimistic results, any attempts at permanent establishment have failed anomalously, thus leading to its upsetting reputation among entrepreneurial circles.  No legitimate attempts at colonization have been made since the region's official condemnation by the AFT-DSA Commission nearly a decade ago.  

It is often speculated that insurgents, dissidents, and degenerates from old Andromeda reside among the hollow worlds in Sargasso, often drawing connections to the Bermuda Triangle of old Earth folklore—an ominous expanse of ocean where ships were said to disappear without a trace—but to many bourgeois this is mere propaganda aimed at further ostracizing the proletariat as reprehensible pirates and savages.
