DESCRIPTION
Abbey of the Ascended is a sequestered colony in the heart of Oasis, a small cluster of younger stars amidst the dying giants of Caldera.  It was an early attempt at deep space colonization shortly after the Cataclysm, but was abandoned by the AFT-DSA Commission only weeks after the establishment of Wellspring.  It remained for years little more than a final dwelling for refugees, dissidents, those too weak for the final leg of the journey, and a reminder of the forlorn hope shared by the forsaken of old Andromeda.

In more recent times the territory was used for small-scale scientific research by interested parties within the AFT-DSA Commission, but has gained considerable attention from the Resistance in the weeks following the Insurrection, and has since become a popular destination for pirates and freedom fighters alike in need of supplies and like-minded manpower.

The crew made haste, having breached and secured the freighter with minimal armed resistance.  Much of the ship's payload was carried to the assailant vessel and her propellant tanks siphoned completely.  The manifest consisted of packaged foods and generic trade goods; it was no jackpot but a respectable prize for several hours' work.  When they had finished their heist the assailants broke formation, leaving the freighter derelict with her complement until a patrol could heed their distress.  Pirates from Phobos were all too common now, and the anarchists of the Resistance did little to stem the tide of their reign.


DESCRIPTION
ACC-168 is the larger of two gas giants in the Caldera region that were slated for Conglomerate colonization years ago.  The project was abandoned abruptly when corporate funding to the territory was cut in favour of expansion in Azores and The Cradle, but many economic forecasters were ready long in advance.  Phobos was a lost cause from the beginning, having a poor concentration of useful resources and disruptive rings which were known to impede lengthy orbital operations at all but the lowest altitudes.  

The territory has gained little popularity since the Insurrection, and remains strategically and industrially undesirable for both sides of the war.  Phobos is expected to continue serving almost exclusively as a garrison for insurgents, smugglers, and renegades who put the half-built infrastructure still looming over the planet to use for many years to come, until the outlaws lose interest or finally meet their fate at the hands of diligent authorities.
